Weddings

Many congratulations on your decision to get married.

Thank you for considering Stobswell Trinity Church of Scotland as a possible place to have the ceremony. Our building is set within its own pretty wee garden and the sanctuary within is beautiful, clean, warm and spacious complete with a magnificent stain glass window.

We believe that having your wedding in a church adds a spiritual aspect to your special day as you say your vows to each other before God and in the presence of your friends and family.

Our minister, Rev Dr Jean Kirkwood, is currently registered to marry couples of the same gender.

In choosing Stobswell Trinity Church, your wedding ceremony will be carried out according to the traditions of the Church of Scotland. This means it will include music and hymns/songs played on a traditional organ, prayers and readings from the Bible. Other readings, poems, music and instruments may also be used with the agreement of the minister.

You do NOT need to be a member of the church to get married in Stobswell Trinity Church, but ideally you should either reside within the parish or have ties to the congregation.

If you would like to find out more, please contact the minister to make an appointment.

Rev Dr Jean Kirkwood

The minister must first agree to marry you before plans for the wedding can go ahead and possible dates and times discussed.

For the use of the church, there is a suggested minimum donation of £400 for non-members and £300 for members. These sums contribute towards the cost of such things as heating, lighting and the organist’s fee.
