Baptisms
& Blessings

Infants or children can be baptised or blessed in the church, adults can also be baptised. Please contact the minister to discuss your needs (see foot of this page). Dates and times can only be agreed upon meeting in person.

Infants and Children

The celebration of baptism is a holy moment for everyone involved and the Church of Scotland expects at least one parent or close family member of the child to be either a member of the Church or willing to become a member.

At Stobswell Trinity Church we warmly welcome and support anyone who genuinely wants to profess their Christian faith and wishes to have their child baptised and brought up within the church. The ceremony usually forms part of a Sunday Service (except under exceptional circumstances).

Where a baptism is not possible, we offer an equally meaningful celebration of blessing in which parents can give thanks for their child and have them receive a blessing without having to make vows they might struggle to keep. The child is then free to make their own decision to be baptised when they are ready.

Adult Baptisms

Adults can be baptised (at any age) when they are welcomed into the church. Please contact the minister for information.
